Introducing Nokia digital badges by Credly's Acclaim
Dec. 3, 2020
What are digital badges?
A digital badge is an indicator of accomplishment or skill that can be managed, displayed, shared, accessed, and verified online.
Digital badges have unique metadata connected to you and your skills. With secure digital verifications of your skills and achievements, you’re empowered to highlight the skills that make you stand out. Every credential and profile on Acclaim has a unique URL that can be embedded on a resume or website which provides a secure means of storage, transport, and credential publishing that adds a layer of security that prevents fraudulent claims.
Credly's Acclaim uses an open standard, where earners can combine multiple badges from different issuers to tell the complete story of your achievements. Open badges offer:
- Free: There is no charge to the end-user.
- Transferable: You can collect badges from multiple sources, online and off, to be used on other compliant sites.
- Stackable: Whether they’re issued by one organization or many, badges can build upon each other and be stacked to tell the full story of your skills and achievements.
- Evidence-based: Open Badges are information-rich. Each badge has important metadata which is hard-coded into the badge image file itself that links back to the issuer, criteria, and verifying evidence.

Nokia lengthens timeline to recertify an active certification in programs including the SRC, NN-VCP, ONC, and the CPC
The COVID-19 pandemic has affected all of us in many ways including how we participate in training and certification programs such as Nokia’s Service Routing, Optical Network, Cloud Packet Core, and Nuage Networks Virtuoso Certification programs.
Flexible learning options
Nokia has taken steps to provide you with flexible learning options during this time. We are adding more virtual classes to ensure you and your teams can continue to develop your skills. You can also take advantage of self-paced learning options that include accessing: course materials, study guides, web-based training, and remote lab access.
Testing and certification termination date extension
COVID-19 has significantly reduced the number of open Pearson VUE global test sites. To learn more about impacts to candidates trying to re-schedule or schedule new appointments, please refer to the Pearson VUE COVID-19 update page.
Given the limited open testing sites and to ensure your certifications remain active, we are extending the termination dates for those of you who have an active certification with a termination date from March 1st, 2020 to February 27th, 2021. If your certification is set to terminate within this timeframe, you will automatically have your certification termination date extended to February 28th, 2021.
For example, if you were certified on January 21st, 2017:
- Your certification expired on January 21st, 2020 (three years from the date you were originally certified on)
- Your original certification termination date is July 21st, 2020 (six months following the expiry date)
- Your revised certification termination date is February 28th, 2021
Certifications that terminated before March 1st, 2020 or after February 27th, 2021 are not eligible for an extension.
You can review your certification dates in the Student Portal.
Exam voucher expiration date extension
Nokia has also taken steps to extend the validity period for Pearson VUE exam vouchers. All unredeemed Pearson VUE exam vouchers that were distributed by Nokia have been extended to December 31st, 2020.
Lab exams
Lab exams are temporarily on hold until September 30th, 2020 with the exception of Shanghai, China. Lab exam schedules will be available after September 30th, 2020, although this is subject to change based on the evolving COVID-19 situation. To register for a lab exam, use the Lab Exam Registration Tool.
If you had a lab exam that was postponed or canceled as a result of COVID-19, the Nokia Learning Services team will contact you to make new arrangements. No additional costs will be incurred to reschedule your lab exam.
