Course Objectives

After completing the course, students should be able to:

  • Differentiate between a single service network and an Nokia Triple Play Services network by network components and their functions
  • List the end-user applications in the home network and the required functions of the Residential Gateway to support them
  • List the key functions that are required of the access network for triple play services
  • Explain how triple play traffic is aggregated in a bridged and routed CO
  • List the key IP features on the BSR required to interact with typical IP applications
  • Given a triple play subscriber SLA, design a QoS strategy on each of the network components to guarantee the SLA
  • List the common security mechanisms in the access, aggregation and IP application components of a triple play network
  • List the common redundancy techniques in the access, aggregation and IP application components of a triple play network
  • Describe the concept of a subscriber in the triple play network and the various mechanisms used in identifying, creating and managing it
  • Describe the dynamic nature of the Managed SAP and its advantages in the triple play network
