
This 4-day course (formerly known as the Nokia IP Scalable Networks) is the starting point for the Service Routing Certification program. It is designed for students with limited knowledge of IP and Ethernet technologies. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be familiar with the basics of the TCP/IP layered model, Ethernet, Internet addressing and packet forwarding, routing protocols, MPLS tunneling, and Virtual Private Network (VPN) services.

Recommended Prerequisites
- Experience with binary numbers operations
- Basic knowledge of Ethernet and IP technologies is an asset.

After completing the course, students should be able to:

- Perform basic configuration with the command line interface of the Nokia 7750 Service Router
- Explain the purpose and operation of the Ethernet protocol
- Describe the Internet Protocol (IP) addressing and forwarding process
- Explain the difference between static routing and dynamic routing protocols
- Identify common routing protocols and explain the basics of OSPF and BGP
- Explain what a VPN service is
- List the VPN types supported on the Nokia 7750 Service Router
- Describe how MPLS tunnels are used to support VPN services
- Identify the different service components and the required configuration steps on the Nokia 7750 Service Router
