Nokia Compact Network and Ultra Compact Network offer LTE coverage for public safety and business critical communication, for disaster recovery, to temporarily complement coverage, or to increase capacity.

New Nokia Ultra Compact Network brings instant broadband connectivity for first responders and business critical users. Designed for extreme conditions, it is ideal for use during network outages or to complement coverage in remote or congested locations. Pushing the limits of public safety.

Our portable solutions can establish connectivity in minutes. They work as standalone systems and can be connected using IP-based backhaul.

Nokia Ultra Compact Network is the smallest unit and can be carried in a backpack or transported in a regular-sized vehicle such as a police car. It comprises radio, core and applications such as Nokia Group Communications,  including push-to-talk and push-to-video capabilities and can integrate other high-bandwidth mission-critical services such as video analytics and geo-location.

Nokia Compact Network is the high capacity version for situations requiring broader coverage and a higher number of active users and can connect up 10 eNodeBs.

Compact Network and Ultra Compact Network are both supported by the complete portfolio of Nokia services, including RF design, engineering services, system integration and maintenance

The Nokia Saving Lives project combines mobile communications technology with drones and applications like real-time high-definition video and infrared camera. This enables communications in emergencies or disasters so that first responders can bring aid to victims as fast as possible.

The Nokia Saving Lives Control Center comprises network control, drone control, rescue applications, mission advisor tool and monitors.

Nokia showcased the Nokia Saving Lives project at the third consecutive UAE Drones for Good event held in Dubai in February 2017.

During the event, the Nokia Saving Lives project demonstrated how groups of drones flying in formation can efficiently search for people in a disaster area. Nokia’s Ultra Compact Network was used to establish instant high-speed LTE connectivity, while camera-borne drones captured footage from disaster locations in real time. Nokia Saving Lives won first prize and $1 million in the event’s International Drones award category.
