Nokia developed Nokia Saving Lives project to demonstrate the power of technological progress to save lives. Strong coordination and the synergies created by combined use of different technologies and key stakeholders can resolve the structural limitations in future rescue operations. Nokia Saving Lives is part of Nokia Innovations, which focuses on the future technology development.
Nokia Saving Lives Won the UAE Drones for Good Award!

Nokia showcased the use of drones, video data analytics and control center to facilitate efficient rescue operations for first responders at the third consecutive UAE Drones for Good showcase held in Dubai Feb. 17-18 in Dubai. Nokia Saving Lives is an innovation and non-profit project initiated and run by Nokia Innovation Steering. It demonstrates that technological progress can save lives when different technologies fully leverage their combined potential, and when key stakeholders work together to resolve structural limitations. Nokia‘s low weight communication equipment capable of being carried via drones won the international category prize, honored by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince.
The Nokia Saving Lives project combines LTE technology with unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) applications such real-time high-definition video and infrared cameras to help emergency services to provide fast response and communication in disaster zones. Nokia Saving Lives won the 1st prize and $1 million in the International Drones category in the UAE Drones for Good Award.
